Today, 17 November, World Quality Day is celebrated to reflect on the relevance of quality management in everyday life and the development of more efficient processes, systems and results at the business level.

The celebration of this day aims to raise awareness among companies and public authorities in the generation of a strategic vision of quality in management, which has an impact on the continuous improvement of goods and services.

In an environment unseen in generations, in a state of permanent uncertainty and profoundly challenging, DIGICALITY is an inescapable principle: doing things well, with quality, in the emerging digital age.

MASS AND DIGICALITY

Over the last few years, MASA has been carrying out a digital transformation, This has improved the quality of the Company's processes, as they have been significantly optimised, facilitating collaboration and allowing access from any location. This has improved the quality of the processes as they have been significantly optimised, facilitating collaboration and allowing access from any location.

Many of us, as MASA employees, use digitised processes in our day-to-day work, which have been developed using various IT tools:

PROCESSES DIGITALISED

 TOOLS DIGITISATION

This flexibility and availability of information means that our data is available from the internet, and can therefore be exposed to attacks by cybercriminals.

For this reason, and in parallel with digitalisation, MASA is working on cybersecurity with the following objectives:

  • Data preservation.
  • Protect data from manipulation.
  • Protect access to them.
  • Protect the operability of systems and their integrity.
  • Avoid installing spyware or data-mining applications.
  • Prevent Trojan horses, or the activation of backdoors, that would allow us to take control of our systems.
  • Protection of personal devices (laptops, mobile phones) against loss and theft.

Security Management Systems

Last August, MASA achieved the certification in the ISO 27001:2013 “Information security management systems”.”.

The implementation of ISO 27001 responds to legislative and customer requirements, including GDPR and other potential threats, including: Cybercrime, personal data breaches, vandalism/terrorism, fire/damage, malicious use, theft and virus attacks.

The ISO 27001 Information Security Management System is conceived on the PDCA continuous improvement cycle and high level structure, common to the rest of ISO Management Systems. This enables the integration of the ISMS (Information Security Management System) with any other management system.

In organisations such as MASA, with solid Quality, Environment and OSH Management Systems aligned with corporate strategy, the implementation and integration of new ISO standards is more agile.

In this sense, in recent years, different security tools have been acquired that have helped IT teams in this task. But no tool is sufficient without the help of the user, as the user is the weakest link in the security chain.

From our MASA IT team, and more recently, from the Vinci Group, we continuously receive bulletins, communiqués and news on the corporate portal. Training and awareness are two fundamental pillars that will help to strengthen information security.

In October, Vinci's Cybersecurity Week took place in which we had access to talks focused on how to avoid internet scams (Phishing, Smishing, Vishing), we could play games to improve our skills and we could watch videos explaining how to work in environments such as work, home and in the field (construction site).
