Acerinox Europe SAU, a member of the Acerinox SA Group of Companies has today commissioned one of its latest investment projects at its operation in Las Barrios, Cadiz. MASA group, a company specialising in industrial assembly,You have been responsible for the mechanical assembly of this installation.
The contract for the ladle metallurgy furnaces (LMF) was signed in August 2019. This project improves the production process at the Cadiz factory with significant cost savings, increases capacity and generates benefits for the company. SMS Group, The implementation has been carried out by a German company with know-how in foundry and casting technologies.
In this project industrial assembly, The three companies have collaborated jointly, with Acerinox Europa SAU being responsible for the civil works and SMS, together with MASA as main contractor, being responsible for the supply of the equipment and structures, electrical and automated control systems, as well as their successful installation and commissioning.
The ladle metallurgy furnace installation includes all auxiliary equipment such as 6-wire wire feeder, de-scaling machine, temperature and sample lances.
As the most significant data of this construction and industrial assembly, we have to mention that more than 1,300 tons of main and auxiliary equipment, 450 tons of metallic structures and 25 tons of piping and accessories have been assembled.
It is also worth noting that the installation of the new plant has been carried out with the factory in operation, where Risk Prevention and Safety, and construction and assembly engineering have played a fundamental role.
