Last December MASA organised a Conference on TANK SAFETY, which addressed safety from the point of view of DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE.

During two intense days, held in two of Spain's major industrial centres: Algeciras and Huelva, professional experts from the sector showed us how to achieve safety in the design, construction and assembly of tanks.

The importance of taking safety into account in the different phases of a tank's life was presented in different lectures:

Considering the importance of storage tanks in our industrial environment, with this conference we intend to make a small STOP in our day to day that helps to reinforce the ideas and even learn from the mistakes made, so that we all contribute our experience in the operation of tanks in the phases of construction, repair and / or maintenance of the same. In this way, we can gain a real perspective, know what happens when something goes wrong and be able to react as accurately as possible.

Storage tanks are industrial structures of a generally large size, in which products that are indispensable for companies, such as oil and its derivatives, as well as many other products, are stored. Their designs are subject to different casuistry and project circumstances. Because of their usefulness, tanks must be of outstanding quality in both design and construction. For this purpose, there are international regulation standards: construction, maintenance and conservation, among them the API standards, whose high construction standards guarantee their useful life; however, operation, maintenance and periodic inspections are essential to preserve the safety of these storage elements.

The conferences were held in two of Spain's major industrial centres, Algeciras (14 Dec'2022) and Huelva (15 Dec'2022), with a high attendance in person and were also broadcast live via streaming, through our youtube channel, from where more than 250 attendees had access and were also able to join us.

We were attended by several of our customers, experts in the field, whom we would like to thank enormously for their presence and for sharing their experiences with us, a clear sign that safety matters.
