Masa intervened for 15 consecutive days to restore sanitation and accessibility in one of the areas most affected by the exceptional rains in December.
Following the severe flooding in the Moroccan city of Safi on 14 December 2025, MASA activated a social and solidarity intervention plan in the historic Medina, one of the areas hardest hit by the storm. The action, carried out in coordination with the local authorities and in collaboration with the state-owned company OCP, made it possible to restore adequate conditions of health, safety and urban mobility.

The exceptional rains caused a massive accumulation of stagnant water, significant deposits of mud and solid waste, the obstruction of drainage systems and serious traffic difficulties, creating a high health risk for the local population. Faced with this scenario, MASA's management in Morocco decided to intervene and informed the Municipality of Safi of its availability to provide operational support on the ground.
At the request of the local authorities, MASA joined the relief operation coordinated with the state-owned company OCP, adopting a centralised management approach to optimise resources and ensure effective intervention. The work began on 20 December and lasted 15 consecutive days in various sectors of the Medina designated by the local authorities.
For the intervention, MASA deployed a team of around 20 people who worked continuously despite the adverse weather conditions. The actions focused on restoring health, improving accessibility and normalising urban mobility conditions in the affected areas.
MASA has been present in Morocco for more than 30 years and continues to collaborate with local institutions in actions aimed at improving the environment and the well-being of the communities in which it operates.
