On the second Thursday of November, World Quality Day was celebrated with the aim of reflecting on the relevance of quality management in everyday life and the development of more efficient processes, systems and results at the business level.<\/p>\n

The celebration of this day aims to raise awareness among companies and public authorities in the generation of a strategic vision of quality in management, which has an impact on the continuous improvement of goods and services.<\/p>\n

How did World Quality Day originate?<\/h2>\n

In 1989 the Chartered Quality Institute (formerly known as the Institute of Quality Assurance (IQA) celebrated the first World Quality Day, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of quality in companies and organisations.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, some sources indicate that the United Nations (UN) promulgated this world day in 1990. However, it is not listed on their official website.<\/p>\n

In Japan, November is considered \u00abQuality Month\u00bb since 1959. Other countries in the East have adopted this date, while some nations, such as the United States and Canada, celebrate it in October.<\/p>\n

Campaign 2021: Sustainability: Improving our products, people and the planet<\/h2>\n

The theme for this year's World Day 2021 (11\/11\/21) focused on \u201cSustainability: improving our products, people and planet.<\/p>\n

This campaign aims at integrating sustainability expectations and needs into the processes<\/p>\n

and plans, through the organisations' management system. It also innovates and stimulates the design of products and services that are commercially viable and sustainable.<\/p>\n

The three lenses of sustainability: People, Planet and Business.<\/p>\n

\"\"Companies are moving towards a commitment to sustainability using a model focused on people, our planet and business. When these lenses overlap, we see natural opportunities to innovate, protect and nurture a healthy future. When we integrate this vision into how we work and live, we can better solve tomorrow's toughest challenges, without compromising the ability of future generations to solve their own.<\/p>\n

The success of today's society is to maintain balance and sustainability between the environment and the social and economic world, in order to meet the needs of the present without compromising the needs of future generations.<\/p>\n

For this reason, and in order to comply with the principles of sustainable development, legal requirements are increasingly demanding and have led to the appearance of standards such as ISO, Regulations and UNE, to provide effective requirements for companies to improve the quality of their products and services, while reducing the environmental impacts generated.<\/p>\n

In addition, following the mandate to the Global Compact to raise awareness and help organisations contribute to the new development agenda, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) play an essential role, providing companies with a universal and coherent framework to identify which goals and targets they can influence and start implementing activities and operations to contribute to sustainable development, locally and internationally.<\/p>\n

Companies and organisations all over the world rely on quality and environmental management systems as a key tool to ensure customer satisfaction and environmental protection.<\/p>\n

Conclusions<\/h2>\n

Quality means managing and doing things well, striving to be better and more efficient every day.<\/p>\n

Quality is in people, people are Quality.<\/p>\n

Every day, we are all quality.<\/p>\n
